I am originally from Stratford, Ontario. I entered the Therapeutic Recreation program at Dalhousie University in 2013, following my high school graduation. I found out about RT by chance; I knew I wanted to work in a health profession and had all the required high school credits! I got lucky because I love it.

In the summers, I love to spend time with friends & family by lakes and in cottages whenever possible. I play tennis, ride my bicycle anywhere I can, and partake in all other warm weather activities I have time for; baseball, frisbee, waterskiing, hiking, camping, swimming, croquet, golf, yoga, and relaxing on patios or by pools!

In the winters, I downhill ski whenever I get the chance, cross country ski, play squash, do hot yoga, read, watch my favourite shows (currently Game of Thrones), and spend some indoor time cooking warm meals and watching the snow fall!

I recently completed my internship in acute care mental health. Throughout it I worked on my own leisure lifestyle & developed my professional skills, as well as hung out with all kinds of dogs and planned for my future! I hope to work as a Recreation Therapist in mental health or a related field. I would also love to go back to school for my masters degree, potentially in psychology. My favourite part of being an RT (so far) is the relationships built with clients/patients, and working with them one on one!
